Pest Control
The pest control sale consists of helping homeowners realize they have bugs in and around their homes. Once the need has been established successful sales representatives will invite the home owner to sign up for a pest control contract that typically lasts one year. No one likes spiders, no one likes bugs. If you have ever been stung by a bee, or bit by a spider, selling pest control will allow you to finally fight back. The commissions are generally quite good as well.
Security Systems
Security systems sales jobs generally offer the highest pay per sale. The sales pitch focuses on convincing the customer that they will benefit from a home security system. In many parts of the nation this is definately do-able, in Philadelphia for instance; people know they need home security! Typically a free system is offered when the customer signs a contract. If you are good with people, persistent, and can learn the product; selling security systems may be for you. With the high pay scales it is not uncommon for sales reps to walk away from the summer with big money!
Satellite
You will be selling Dish Network or Direct TV. The sales reps job is to convince the customer that the satellite company can save them money or provides a better variety of channels. While people can save money switching from cable to satellite, they will usually lose some channels they enjoy. Others switch because they want the additional HD channels, a sports package or international programming. The customer typically signs a 1 to 2 year contract.
Waste Services
In many parts of the country trash services are not offered by the city governments. Residents are required to take care of their own waste. Many homeowners don't care who picks up their trash as long as it is the cheapest possible. Selling trash services equals saving people money. It is a low pressure sales job, and this industry boasts the highest average number of sales per rep.
